Notwithstanding all our building operations, scarcely a single accident has occurred worth naming. However, Pettyfor the plasterer lost the sight of an eye in the spring through a bit of mortar getting into it; and today he fell down from, or rather with, an insecure scaffolding inside the dormitory, and broke both his legs. We had him immediately conveyed to the hospital at Oxford. Our compassion was somewhat diminished by finding that he was a bad man with a very ill-conducted family. Sewell will see to him.
